Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my website, I hope you have found it enjoyable.

Due to the sheer number of emails I get it is not always possible to respond to everyone, however I thought I would include this page to answer some of the most common enquiries I get!

My website was set up on 30th August 2006 and has quickly grown to what you see now. It is updated regularly and it contains only a fraction of the images I have in my collection. If you wish to be kept up to date whenever I add new material to my website then please use the ‘Notify Me!’ box on the main home page of my website.

Every single photo on the website is taken by myself and as such I am the copyright holder. Use of images from my website is not allowed unless you have my written consent. To apply for use of images please email me stating the image you would like and what you would like to use it for. I will remain the copyright holder at all times. As my website is funded entirely by myself and run as a hobby, please consider making a donation to the website if you wish to use any of my photographs. The donate button is at the bottom of this page. For commercial use of my images, different terms apply, please contact me for details.

I get a lot of emails from people wanting to find out details of a family member who served in the Armed Forces, sadly I am not able to help in cases like this, my website its devoted to the photographic recording and research of Aviation Memorials, Airfield landscapes, Airfield Buildings and other associated structures. If you are trying to trace family members histories then I would suggest trying the RAF Museum, Hendon or otherwise The National Archives. Other organisations to try are the Aircrew Remembrance Society and the World War Two ex-RAF website.

Please do not email me asking for details of landowners, I do not give that sort of information out. People researching the paranormal or ‘ghost hunting’ should either try a phone book, local parish councils or even by knocking on doors, I have no association with any landowner and I am unable to help. A lot of airfields have museums and where possible I have included a link to the museum on the relevant page.

I have had permission to visit all of the sites featured on my website, sometimes it is an arranged tour or simply finding the landowner and asking for permission. Some of the visits have been arranged through the following organisations or groups;
Airfield Information Exchange
Airfield Research Group
Bentwaters Aviation Society
Lowestoft Aviation Society

If anyone can help with arranging access or a visit to an airfield, disused, civil, military or other site then please contact me using the button at the bottom of the page. There are a lot of airfields that are not featured on my website, this is due to the time to go and visit them, the financial aspect of getting there and back and most importantly, arranging access. I would like to visit a lot more airfields but please do not get upset if the airfield you are looking for is not yet featured on my site.

I do not own any airfield so please do not contact me asking if you can visit my airfield. I also get alot of emails asking where people can can go to race thier car! I would suggest looking at google earth to see what airfield is located near to you that is useable and then finding out who owns it. There are a number of proving grounds and testing grounds that have been built on old airfields and I would suggest contacting these places first. Places like Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire is used as a proving ground, Dunsfold, Surrey is an active airfield but has the Top Gear track there too. Snetterton Heath, Thruxton, Silverstone and Westhampnett (Goodwood) are all current tracks that are on old airfields. A bit of googling should find a few more.

I am not personally involved with any memorials and any mistakes on a memorial you may see are not my responsibility. I like to see correct and properly researched information put on a memorial but sometimes the people involved in erecting them have not always done their homework.

How can you help??? I am an active member of the Airfield Research Group and we are always on the lookout for archive material and new members. If you have any photographs you wish to donate to be preserved for future generations then please contact me. You may think the photo showing an old building may have no importance, the chances are it does. A lot of the material being gathered at the moment will form part of an exciting new project, The Airfield Archive. The Archive project is a not for profit organisation that is working with the Airfield Research Group and the Airfield Information Exchange to bring together a number of privately owned collections to form one archive that will be accessible to all.

I do enjoy hearing from people who have stories to tell, or even if you wish to say thanks for the site. I do my best to make it what it is and I am very proud of what I have achieved. Any mistakes with the captions of my photographs are purely my own and I would be grateful if you spot any mistakes to let me know. Equally, if any of my links on my site no longer work please also let me know.

Please do consider a donation to the running of the site and the ongoing research, if you feel you can help in anyway then please do contact me.

Best Wishes
